E Squadron Training Weekend Penally 23rd – 25th April 2010
The squadron training weekend was very successful with 59 cadets on the weekend. We covered basic training and testing, 1, 2, 3 star training which included SAA on the cadet GP L98A2 rifle. We also held a drill competition on the Saturday evening where the cadets performed ceremonial drill with the drill movements for the specific star levels and they all enjoyed the competition as we made it fun for them to learn the drill movements.
The regular soldiers from the Queens Dragoon Guards which included the following Sgt Dave Chant, Cpl Hutchinson, Cpl Schofield, Cpl Thompson, who gave a good presentation on the regiment, and the recent deployment to Afghanistan.
