               Dyfed & Glamorgan ACF have a Corps of Drums  their Headquarters are at the Drill Hall Llanelli.

                   The Corps of Drums take part in Parades Concerts and Functions all over South and West Wales.

Beating Retreat Cardiff Castle      
     On Thursday the 15th of September The Corps of Drums took part in a Beating Retreat Ceremony at Cardiff Castle supporting the Royal Welsh TA Band and Drums from Newport.
     Cadets from Garnant Detachment helped the fund raisers by taking part in a bucket collection in the streets of Cardiff accompanied by Shenkin the goat and the Goat Major.

Music Camp Longmoor

  Dyfed&Glamorgan ACF Corps of Drums were amongst thirty musical detachments to attend the six day National Cadet Music Concentration held at Longmoor Camp, Hampshire  during the school holidays.  Cadets of all standards attended, from beginners to highly skilled musicians and drummers.   And it was not just music – the cadets also took part in shooting on the electronic target range, archery, swimming and sports competitions.   As part of “Cadet and the Community” work, a concert was given at the Shannon Court Retirement Home.

    Colonel Bob Jammes, who was in command of the camp said, “The Army Cadet Force offers great opportunities for young people who enjoy music and adventure.” Cpl  G Rees Passed his Drum Majors Course , Drummer F Quinn was the best Drummer on the Beginners Course And L/Cpl J Davies was most improved Drummer on the 3 Star Course  The other Cadets who attended were mostly beginners. Everyone who attended enjoyed Camp.  2 Saxophone players from A Company and a Clarinet player from E Squadron  also attended.

The next music camp will be at Altcar during the Easter holidays March the 31st to April 7th.2012 . If you would like to attend give your name to your CAA by December the 17th as we will be booking early to make sure we can attend.
